Bristol Zoological Society has shared its latest plans for improvements at Bristol Zoo Project, including several transport and access changes that may affect residents in Pilning & Severn Beach.

Coming up soon – tree safety works on Blackhorse Hill will take place within the next month, requiring temporary traffic management for a few days.

Looking longer term – The Transport and Access Project, is expected to begin in phases during 2027, this will introduce upgraded bus stops on Blackhorse Hill, new walking and cycling routes, improved car‑parking arrangements, a new roundabout at the site entrance, and a peak‑day traffic “release valve” via Hollywood Lane to the A4018. These works are dependent on the completion of the sale of the former Bristol Zoo Gardens site, with funds anticipated to be available in 2027.
