Pilning & Severn Beach Parish Council has received new information from Ridge and Partners LLP about the proposed conversion of the Viridor Polymers Recycling Facility into a data centre.

Key points shared by the applicant include:

• Re‑use of the existing building (not a new build)
• Lower traffic movements than the former use
• Closed‑loop cooling system (reduced water demand)
• Up to 80% of energy supplied by the adjacent Energy Recovery Facility
• Additional rooftop solar and biodiversity planting planned
