Tree pruning by SGC in Severn Beach
The Lime trees on Beach Avenue and Abbott Road will be reduced to the previous pruning points in the next financial year – 2026/2027.
Other trees that will be assessed for inclusion on next year’s programme will include the Ash trees to establish if they have been infected with the Ash Dieback fungi. SGC is working through the district on a ward by ward basis removing the infected trees on a prioritised basis.
The condition of roadside dead Elms will also be reassessed and, where appropriate, these will also be removed.
The trees in SGC ownership were inspected and recorded on our tree management software in 2022 and have been given a re-inspection frequency of 5 years. Issues will be raised in the interim period and the Tree Team will respond to these as is appropriate.
All of the above proposed work is budget-dependent and will be prioritised on a health and safety-first basis. Please see the link below to the SGC FAQ sheet which may be helpful.
