Community Driving Awareness Event – Get Involved
There are still places available if you or someone you know might be interested
Pilning & Severn Beach residents are invited to take part in a new community‑led initiative aimed at building safer driving habits and strengthening road awareness across our villages.
This event offers a positive, proactive opportunity for drivers from 17 to 25 to refresh their skills, gain confidence, and contribute to a safer environment for everyone. Rather than focusing on penalties or enforcement, the aim is simple: to encourage good driving habits before bad ones take root.
There will be 30 spaces available, allocated on a first‑come, first‑served basis. The event on 3rd October will be held at Yate Fire Station. Residents are encouraged to share the opportunity widely. See the poster below.
This initiative forms part of a wider campaign, supported by upcoming TV and radio coverage, highlighting the importance of safer driving in our Town and Parish neighbourhoods. It is a chance for our community to demonstrate that we are invested in protecting one another, reducing risk, and ultimately saving lives.
Taking part brings not only practical benefits but also a real sense of goodwill. Every participant helps strengthen the message that road safety is a shared responsibility
