Cycling UK’s Big Bike Revival is bringing a series of free, practical cycling activities to Severn Beach this July, offering local residents the chance to build confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy short guided rides in a friendly, supportive setting.
Designed for adults who are beginners, improving, or returning to cycling, the sessions provide hands‑on help to get people riding safely and comfortably. Participants can learn to ride, pick up maintenance skills, receive bike safety checks, and explore local routes with experienced ride leaders.
What’s On
Free Dr Bike Session – 24 July, 9:00–13:00 A drop‑in event offering free bike checks, basic repairs, and safety advice to help ensure your cycle is road‑ready.
Learn to Fix Your Bicycle – 29 July, 13:00–17:00 A practical workshop covering essential maintenance skills, from puncture repairs to simple adjustments, helping you keep your bike running smoothly.
Guided Bike Ride – 31 July, 10:00–13:00 A relaxed, short group ride exploring local routes—ideal for building confidence and meeting other cyclists.
All events take place at Severn Beach Village Hall and are delivered by Lawrence Weston Bike Hub as part of Cycling UK’s national Big Bike Revival programme, funded by the UK Government.
Why Take Part?
The Big Bike Revival aims to make cycling more accessible by offering free support in a welcoming environment. Whether you want to improve your wellbeing, save money on travel, or simply enjoy being outdoors, these sessions provide an easy way to get started. Residents are encouraged to come along, meet new people, and bring a friend.
